Coaching Videos

Russell and Lauryn Mark have completed a series of videos supporting our coaching panel and promoting the ACTA.

These videos are extremely professionally prepared and will be an asset to our Association. In particular, the video explaining the ‘Introduction to Clay Target Shooting’ is highly informative and will be a great benefit in introducing new members to our sport.

An Induction to the Range - Welcome to the ACTA

Olympic and Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist's Russell and Lauryn Mark take us through a video tutorial on what you need to know when you attend an ACTA range for the first time.

1.  Determining your dominant eye

The first thing you need to establish when you begin the sport of clay target shooting is your eye dominance. Russell and Lauryn Mark show us how to determine which shoulder you should be mounting your shotgun to.

2. The basic shotgun stance

Olympic and Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist's, Russell and Lauryn Mark, show us a basic, but simple to learn, generic shotgun stance to get you started in clay target shooting.

3. Mounting your shotgun correctly

After you've established your dominant eye and mastered the basic stance, it's time to learn how, and how not to, mount a shotgun to your shoulder. Russell and Lauryn Mark give some handy advice to get you started.

4. Basic shotgun terminology

Shotguns have some very unique terminology associated with them. Olympians Russell and Lauryn Mark explain some often confusing issues in the world of clay target shooting.

5. Starting hold points for Trap

Where do you start your shotgun when you are about to call for your target in DTL? In this video Russell and Lauryn give us some ideas on what you can try and what you need to be aware of.
